Antique Victorian ring set in 15ct yellow gold. This beautiful band has five smooth white Opal gemstones grain set in 15ct yellow gold. The ring has a number of marks on the inside of the band indicating it was hallmarked in 1879 in Birmingham, England in 15ct yellow gold. These opal gemstones have iridescent speckles of greens, pinks and blues. In the Victorian era Opal symbolised fidelity and assurance.
Opal is the birthstone for October and the stone is also given on the 14th wedding anniversary.
